This matters for national security. Michael knows that America's strength abroad depends on our strength at home. When rural communities struggle, when our infrastructure crumbles, when working families can't make ends meet, it weakens our entire country's ability to compete globally. Strong foreign policy requires strong domestic communities. Michael knows which federal investments actually build that resilience versus which are just political theater.

Our community needs a congressman who will actively fight for Modesto every single day on the issues our residents face most—homelessness, housing affordability, public safety, fixing our roads, and reducing blight. These are not abstract policy debates. They are real problems affecting real families in our neighborhoods.
A few years ago at a chamber of commerce meeting, I spoke directly with Tom McClintock about homelessness. Rather than engaging or offering solutions, he dismissed the issue, blamed the state government, and moved on. That is not leadership, and it is not representation. Modesto deserves better.
We need a real representative—someone who understands how Washington works, but who isn’t a partisan clone. We need someone who can navigate the system and put our community first. Michael Masuda is that person.
As a two term Modesto City Council member, I’ve dedicated myself to making our city better through practical, results-driven solutions. That includes launching innovative programs like our Community Health and Assistance Team (CHAT), which dispatches police social workers to respond to homelessness calls; establishing city park rangers; and advancing multiple housing projects serving people experiencing homelessness and disabled veterans.
