"The Constitution is not a suggestion- it is the foundational law of our nation. Article I clearly dictates that the power to declare war belongs solely to Congress, a vital check designed to ensure the American people have a voice before our service members are sent into harm's way. For months, the current administration and Secretary Hegseth have bypassed this requirement, directing unauthorized military hostilities in Iran in direct violation of the War Powers Resolution.

When the leadership of our Department of Defense openly subverts the rule of law, ignores civilian protection measures, and operates without congressional approval, the system is broken.

This is not a partisan issue; it is a constitutional crisis. I fully support the effort to hold Secretary Hegseth accountable. The Central Valley and the Sierra deserve a representative who will always stand up for the Constitution, demand transparency, and protect our separation of powers. If elected, I will vote to uphold these principles without hesitation."
